We're seeking a Vice President of Client Services who is experienced in direct mail fundraising, with superior program strategy expertise and proven data literacy to oversee several client accounts and direct high-quality, multi-channel client fundraising campaigns from concept development through final reporting. 

This will be an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and engaging leader with a passion for progressive nonprofits, to guide a talented team of fundraising professionals and develop strong, positive relationships with clients who care about the world we make and how we make it. 

What You Will Do

  • Lead customer service and strategy for several client accounts, including overseeing campaign development and management, driving creative development, creating budgets and interpreting analysis for direct mail, telemarketing and digital fundraising campaigns.
  • Lead, mentor and supervise staff by engaging staff in on-going professional development, industry trends and multi-channel fundraising understanding, delegation skills, and encouraging staff growth by providing effective, ongoing development and performance feedback.
  • Participate in Avalon's business development efforts by representing us at professional conferences, events, networking within our industry, participating in proposal development and presenting to prospective clients.

What We Need

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 10+ years of direct marketing fundraising experience, including consulting agency experience and/or large nonprofit direct marketing program management experience
  • Superior program strategy expertise across all channels including direct mail, telemarketing, and digital fundraising
  • Proven data literacy skills and experience including creating multi-channel program budgets and interpreting program, campaign, and donor-level key metrics
  • A desire to provide exceptional service to our clients
  • The ability to be a dynamic, engaging manager and mentor who knows how to inspire the best in their team
  • Experience effectively managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Superb written and oral communications skills
  • A passion for advocacy and enthusiasm for our clients and their missions
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
